SS Rajamouli was born on October 10, 1973 in a Telugu family in Karnataka, India. His Mother and Father is Vijayendra Prasad and Raja Nandini. His parents are devotees of Lord Shiva. Rajamouli was born after his mother had a dream, she visited the pilgrimage site of Srisailam. Hence, he was named Srisaila Sri Rajamouli. He has one sister.
Rajamouli’s family hails and lives from Kovvur near Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, India. His mother’s family lives in Vizag, that is situated in Andhra Pradesh, India and SS Rajamouli lived there for several years. Rajamouli lives in a joint family — his father, his mother and his five brothers lived in the same house with their families.
Prasad’s family had own lands in Kovvur but unfortunately which were lost when the railways lines were laid through them. Then, Prasad and his family moved to Karnataka, India from Kovvur in 1968. He live with his big brother K. V. Sivashankara, bought 7 acres of fields in the village of Manvi Taluk in Raichur district. Their family return back to Kovvur in 1977.
It had a huge impact on him. He would remember those stories and the movies he watched and then again tell them to his friends in his own way. His mother encouraged him to learning English and to watch English-language films from the nearby theaters. She also encouraged to read english comics and english storybooks while he is in the free time and never take pressure about for academics.
